Word is TVB producer Chong Wai Kin will be filming two more instalments for the period drama "Silver Spoon, Sterling Shackles", which sparked discussions among netizens.
According to Jayne Stars, the possibility for "Silver Spoon, Sterling Shackles" trilogy seems unlikely as the drama received much criticism for its poorly written storyline and bad editing. Some of the comments included "The ratings for Silver Spoon, Sterling Shackles are average. Why make a sequel?" and "The ending is good enough. Don't continue anymore."
Meanwhile, netizens and fans who are eager to see the sequels offered comments like "Rebecca Zhu should not be cast in the sequel", "I will only watch if Tavia Yeung appears in the new series", and "Will Adam Cheng and Angie Chiu may appear in the new series?"
"Silver Spoon, Sterling Shackles" follows the lives of the Chung family living in 1920's and 1930s colonial Hong Kong. The drama broadcast to fair ratings last December and should a second series be commissioned, it will be set during the war about how the Chung family will come together after being separated while the third instalment will be set during the financial crisis in 2012.
Currently, there is no mention of the cast.
