TVB Executive Tsang Sing Ming revealed that despite its poor ratings, "Beauty At War" will not be cancelled.
As reported on Popular Asians, the Deputy Director of External Affairs recently revealed the reason for its continuation, saying, "In recent years, no drama in the prime time slots has plunged below an average of 20 points. Since "Beauty At War" is ending soon, it will not be cut nor will there be any changes made to it. We will do our best."
The drama has become one of TVB's most poorly rated series in the past few years, after continuing to drop in ratings.
Last week, ratings continued to fall to only average 19 points, becoming the first drama in a long time to crash below an average of 20 ratings points, losing another 190,000 viewers in its run.
In addition to confusing plot, one of the other reasons for its poor reception was the drama's slow pace. In one of its more unpopular episodes, Ada Choi's character loses her three children to the plague, but as her husband considers disclosing the news to her, on whether to tell her about the deaths of her children and why she should be kept in the dark took up the whole episode, leading to dissatisfaction among viewers.
