Previously, it was rumoured that TVB actor Raymond Lam was offered RMB 20 million per episode to play the lead in NowTV's new drama, "The First Empress", however, the actor recently revealed that he played no role in negotiating his fee.
As reported on Mingpao, Raymond, who returned to Hong Kong to appear at Truesilver's store opening in Sha Tin recently, was asked about the rumours saying that he agreed to accept a lower salary of RMB 10 million due to his friendship with producer Lau Ka Ho.
To this, Raymond said, "TVB accepted the offer on my behalf and they did the negotiations with NowTV for me. We will begin filming soon."
Refusing to address the payment rumour, he continued, "As long as the conditions are met, I have no qualms about it. I do believe TVB has already thought of everything, including my work schedule."
"I am just happy to work with Ka Ho again," he said.
"I've read the script and so far, I am very confident about my role."
Meanwhile, the actor was also notified about Moses Chan and Aimee Chan's recent wedding. When asked if he himself would get married just as suddenly, Raymond said, "I always thought of myself as a family man, but at the moment, I will just focus on my career."
