Despite his earlier announcement that "CZ12" will be his last major action film, Hong Kong star Jackie Chan recently stated that he is taking his words back when it was revealed that his upcoming film, "Police Story 2013" will indeed be another action blockbuster.
As reported on Channel News Asia, at the press conference in Shanghai on 24 June, the actor explained, "I was misled by [director] Ding Sheng. When he first showed me the script, there were no action scenes for my character. But later, the script was changed and suddenly I found myself performing lots of action scenes."
However, the 59-year-old actor admitted that he still enjoys shooting action scenes, saying that it thrilled him when he is able to shoot a stunt scene without using wires as it gave him a sense of superiority.
When asked if this movie will be his last major action flick instead, he lamented, "Who knows, maybe I will announce again that this would be my last major action film but if people still approach me to do big action films, I think I will probably still do it. Why don't they come to me do romance instead?"
"Police Story 2013" is scheduled for release in China on 24 December.
