After a three-year hiatus from the music industry to focus on her acting career, Cantopop diva Sammi Cheng has announced her comeback.
As reported on Yes Asia website, the 41-year-old singer is set to return to the music business next month with a new album.
Sammi's first single, "Oasis In The Desert", was penned by her good friend Wyman Wong and composed by Pong Nan and James Ting. The song describes a woman who is desperate to find love. A teaser version of the song has already been posted on Media Asia Music's official YouTube channel.
Meanwhile, Sammi revealed that she was most touched by the song "Chase Again", written by Lin Xi and composed by Lee Tik Man, the latter who previously composed Leslie Cheung's "Chase".
The song depicts the journey and experience of a person who suffers from mental illness, an ordeal Sammi herself identifies with, as she previously suffered from depression for three years.
The album is slated for release just before Christmas.
