Hong Kong model Cissy Wang recently defended her husband Donnie Yen and denied allegations of the martial arts actor neglecting his son.

ET Today website reported that previously, the tabloids reported that Donnie has been inattentive towards the well-being of his son Jeff, whom he fathered with his former wife Leung Zing-Chi, when he reportedly failed to visit Jeff who was hospitalised for pneumothorax.

The rumours were further fuelled when Leung herself declined to respond to any questions about Donnie when she came to pick Jeff up from the hospital.

While speaking to the media at an event celebrating the 31st year of a jewellery brand, Cissy stated, "I've read the reports. Donnie has a great relationship with Jeff and has always stayed in touch. I don't know how such a report would come to be."

She disclosed that Donnie was already in Beijing when Jeff was released from the hospital, making it difficult for him to return to Hong Kong.

"Every parent would worry about his or her child. Donnie even contacted the doctor and asked about Jeff's condition. The doctor told him not to worry and said that Jeff was fine. I also sent text messages asking about his health."

When asked if she will communicate with Donnie's former wife, Cissy said, "I believe that the report was made up because it only said that a witness overheard Leung. The whole issue was illogical. Donnie and Leung have been separated for 18 years, but he has always been a good father to Jeff. Our relationship is great. Don't worry."
