Hong Kong actor Al Wai revealed that he has recently written a letter to the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region's (HKSAR) Chief Executive, CY Leung to express his thoughts regarding the rejection of broadcasting license for HKTV.
As reported on HK Channel website, the actor stated that he wrote the letter to ask the government for a reversal of the decision made pertaining to HKTV's application, saying that it is the right thing to do.
When asked if he is not afraid of the consequences of his action, Al expressed, "I don't think there is a chance for the license to be approved, but I have to say something. The worst thing that may happen is that I may have to change my career path, or get beaten up and go to prison, or maybe have something unusual happen to me."
"Do I feel scared? Well, even if so, should I just let it happen without voicing my opinion? If I don't do anything when I have the opportunity to do something, I would regret it," the actor added.
The actor, who decided to join Ricky Wong's HKTV after 30 years of stagnant career with TVB, was heartbroken when it was reported that HKTV was not among the applicants that were granted the broadcasting license.
