Following reports that the one-vote-per-person system for the TVB Anniversary Awards has been abolished for this year's awards, it was rumoured that the upcoming 2013 awards winners will be decided largely by the company's crew members.
According to HK Channel website, unlike the previous system where a panel of seven judges determined the winners, this time around, more than a hundred crews that include producers and editors will be making the decision, while the public votes account for only 50 percent of the results.
Meanwhile, the public will be given complete responsibility to choose the winners for the Favourite Male and Female Character awards.
This new system triggered speculations that TVB has indeed chosen their winners secretly beforehand and made decisions that will benefit the company.
When asked about the new system, TVB's Non-Drama Production Director, Sandy Yue explained, "The producers and editors are the ones who truly understand the artistes' acting potentials."
However, she added that everything is still in discussion and has yet to be confirmed.
