TVB Non-Drama Production Director Sandy Yu recently dismissed rumours saying that her husband, Stars Shine International's Herman Ho, was the reason for TVB's music producer Tang Chi Wai's resignation.
As reported on Sina website, on 25 October, the music producer and four of his assistants left the company after working there for 12 years. Although he mentioned that his resignation was so that he could explore the world and create his own music, speculations arise that he was dissatisfied with TVB's decision to partner up with Herman Ho to create Star Dream.
To this, Sandy said, "I am not responding to speculations. I don't think it has anything to do with Herman at all. Perhaps Tang wants more development."
When asked if it means that Herman's involvement will hinder his development, Sandy said, "No. You should ask Tang these questions. He didn't leave TVB in a bad way anyway. There are many people going in and out of this industry. Moreover, Herman Ho only operates the music label. He's not responsible for composing music."
Meanwhile, TVB executive Virginia Lok, who is good friends with the former TVB composer stated, "Don't start such rumours. Tang decided to resign because now Herman and others are coming in and can take care of the music business when he's gone."
At the time of writing, she also stated that only Tang had sent his resignation letter. His four assistants are currently considering their options.
