Raymond Lam's mainland drama, "Lu Xiaofeng and Hua Manlou" (earlier reported as "Luk Siu Fung") has been dubbed as the world's first 3D Wuxia television drama.
Jayne Stars website reported that the drama, based on the novel written by Gu Long entitled, "The Legend of Lu Xiaofeng", was revealed to be a RMB100 million budgeted production using the world's most advanced 3D filming equipment. The choice to film in 3D was to attract viewers to watch a more solid, lively and innovative Wuxia project.
In "Lu Xiaofeng and Hua Manlou", Raymond Lam plays the titular character Lu Xiaofeng, who is investigating a strange sickness contracted by the emperor. Along the way, he discovers the Golden Bird Dynasty, an old and forgotten country.
During his investigation, he meets Princess Shangguan Danfeng (played by "Legend of Zhen Huan" actress, Lan Xi), and falls in love with her. However, Xiaofeng's female companion, Ah Xin (Zhang Meng, "In Love with Power"), is unwilling to let go of him even though she is fully aware of Xiaofeng's feelings.
"Lu Xiaofeng and Hua Manlou" is slated to conclude filming in June.
