The retired Hong Kong actress is contemplating a return to the big screen According to media reports, former Hong Kong screen star Cherie Chung has been invited by director Pang Ho-Cheung to take part in his upcoming film Love in the Buff 3.
At a tree planting event yesterday, the 53-year-old admitted that director Ho-Cheung contacted her and has plans to pair her up with her old time partner Chow Yun Fat.
Although sources claimed that Cherie will play Shawn Yue's mum in the movie, the actress said that she has yet to read the script and added that she does not know what it feels like to be a mother.
"I should play a stepmother instead," she laughed.
In addition, Cherie felt it would be inappropriate if the movie requires her to "fight" with Miriam Yeung over Shawn Yue, as she will not accept roles that do not match her status.
When asked on the chances of her taking up the job, the actress commented that she needs to discuss with Yun Fat and think it over before making a decision.
Cherie was one of the top actresses in Hong Kong in the '80s before she announced her retirement in the early '90s.
