Former TVB producer Jonathan Chik revealed that the sequel to his hit TV drama, "War and Beauty"; "Beauty at War" will not be as heavy as its predecessor.
According to Jayne Stars website, while speaking to the media at the promotional event for the new drama, the famed producer revealed, "A lot of people expect the sequel to have more palace schemes, scheming and fighting, but this sequel will revolve around the concept of right and wrong, gossip, and sympathy. The story is not difficult to grasp."
The producer added that the sequel will not be as dark and have as many deaths as it did in the original drama.
Meanwhile, Jonathan also revealed that Sheren Tang will be the only original cast who reprises her original role. As Gigi Lai and Charmaine Sheh were not involved in the sequel, the drama used different editing methods to make the scenes memorable.
As for Moses Chan, despite being one of the original casts, the actor will reappear as an opera artist named Ko Lau Fei, who enters the palace to perform.
New major additions to "Beauty at War" include Ada Choi, Christine Ng and Eddie Kwan.
