The Hong Kong actor has established his own management company Following the departure of several A-list actors from TVB, Michael Tse recently revealed that he has also decided not to renew his contract with the station.
'Actually I've already left [TVB] for two months. I have set up my own company named 'Laughing Workshop', and I think I'll have more freedom this way,' he said.
The actor, whose popularity soared after his role as 'Laughing Gor' in 2009's Emergency Unit, admitted in an interview that his decision was partly due to the lack of recognition from the company.
''Laughing Gor' was such a popular character and I won many awards in China because of it. And yet, I didn't manage to win anything back home,' he lamented. 'I would be lying if I say I'm not disappointed. I can only improve my EQ and learn to accept reality.'
The 46-year-old, however, emphasised that awards are not the only reason behind his decision to end his 15-year working relationship with TVB, and that he is still on good terms with his former company.
In addition, Michael also shared his plans to venture into the Chinese market in the near future. 'I'll take the chance to see what's in stall over there, but I won't give up on the Hong Kong market as well. It all depends on opportunities,' he reiterated.
