Following various rumours surrounding her divorce from her husband, Chinese actor Li Yapeng, Faye Wong recently turned to her micro blog to address everything once and for all.

According to Xinhua website, on 18 September, Faye wrote, "It was me who wanted the divorce. There is no third party, no mother-in-law problems, and no financial issues involved."

The singer continued, "This is not a tragic drama. The separation is peaceful and it was a decision we both made as a way of getting along. To the children, we are still a family."

Faye also responded on rumours of her supposed retirement to focus on Buddhism, stating, "I will not become a nun", with an added emoticon to express her displeasure.

Faye Wong and husband Li Yapeng announced their separation through Weibo on 13 September after eight years of marriage. This marks Faye's second divorce, as in 1999, the 44-year-old singer divorced Chinese musician Dou Wei, with whom she has a daughter.
