Julian Cheung does not mind his wife Anita Yuen's past relationships, saying that everybody has their own imperfections.
As reported on Apple Daily website, the 42-year-old actor was asked such a question by the media after a clip from TV personality Maria Leitao's second season of "Telling Maria" featuring Anita, who revealed her past relationship, was played at the premiere party of the upcoming show.
On the show, Anita talked about her relationship with a married man long ago, saying, "I really thought that we were dating like any normal couple. I didn't feel like I was a mistress, and I don't even understand what makes one a mistress."
When asked to give his response in regards to Anita's confession, Julian, who attended an event held at the Ritz-Carlton Hong Kong Hotel on 26 September, stated, "I've read the reports and her response. She was just talking about a normal relationship she had."
He added, "I think the most regretful thing in this story is that I wasn't there sooner to protect her. I am not perfect, so I have no right to request others to be perfect."
He also denied that he felt offended by her past, saying, "It just makes me want to cherish her more."
The second season of "Telling Maria" will feature stars such as Carina Lau, Veronica Yip, Charlie Young, Kelly Chen, Gigi Leung and Sammi Cheng.
