Andy Lau was invited to the 2012 London Paralympic Games Mass Pledge ceremony and he sat on the wheelchair to play boccia with the disabled athletes. Andy also revealed that he would set off and stayed in London on 4 September to watch the Hong Kong disabled athletes' competitions, especially to show support for his good friend So Wa Wai's athletics contests and the swimming and table tennis contests. He will be staying 3-4 days in London as he expressed: "I was invited to watch the competitions in London, the important competitions which includes So Wa Wai, I've confidence in him. Initially could set off earlier to watch the different competitions, but need to shoot Blind Detective thus the time could not accommodate. (Will you bring your daughter along?) OK! OK!" However, Andy did not give an answer on question regarding his daughter.With regards to Liu Xiang redrawing from the 2012 Olympics Games when he pulled his achilles tendon and was blasted by netizens, Andy sympathies him as he said: "A sportsman fails to compete because of an injury, he should be sad too, hope everyone could give him time to recover and the truth will be known in future."
When talked about the allegation that TVB hired Wong Jing back to the TV scene and Eric Tsang sending invitations to superstars back to the station to shoot TV drama, Andy exclaimed that he anticipated to be in a TV drama, he added that he wanted to be in an idol drama. With regards to him collaborating with Sammi Cheng again, did they wish to create a miracle $200 million box office record? Andy quipped that he knew about it after reading the news report and expressed that he didn't collaborate much with her in the film. Andy expressed that he could attend this event because it was Sammi's birthday and no shooting for the film, therefore the crew did not celebrate Sammi's birthday.
