Hong Kong singer-actress Gillian Chung has changed her name for the umpteenth time.
As reported on QQ website, on 26 August, the 32-year-old artiste made an announcement on Weibo saying that her name has officially changed to Chung Yun-Tung.
Although she is already using the same name for her debut in showbiz, the "Tung" in her new name has changed to a different character, which the actress clarified, "It is not a mistake. I changed my name."
However, her new name does not sit well with her thousands of fans, who criticised her for continuously changing her name.
The actress was born with the name Chung Tik-Shan before changing it to Chung Ka-Lai. She then changed the name to Chung Tun-Tung after her debut.
When asked about Gillian's habit of changing names, her manager Mani Fok expressed, "Gillian has planned to change her name several months ago, but delayed it due to the release of her new Mandarin album. The two "Tung" characters are pronounced the same way. She researched about the names in the dictionary herself."
