Former screen siren Joan Lin has been making headlines with her cameo appearance in her husband Jackie Chan's latest film
CZ12. Set to be the international star's final action flick, the movie's box office sales surpassed RMB$260 million (S$50 million), just a few days after its premiere.
Although Joan wore minimal make-up and had half-tied hair in the scene, the timeless flair of the former Best Actress award winner sparked fervent discussion online.
According to the multi-tasking director himself, Jackie started persuading his wife, who retired from the silver screen 30 years ago, to guest star on
CZ12 since last year, by assuring her that he would only be taking three shots of her back view.
Like he promised, only Joan's back appeared during the first part of the two-minute long movie trailer. However, fans were treated to a full frontal view of the actress in a following scene where she threw a hug to Jackie who was injured with his leg in a cast. On top of that, the celebrity couple also displayed glimpses of their off-screen lives with a '˜kiss scene' in the movie.
On the final scene, Jackie openly declared his love for his wife and laughed, 'There are so many directors and actors that I like in this world, but right now, my biggest idol is Joan Lin!' And when asked if he is in a hurry for a grandchild, as their son Jaycee Chan has been caught in several rumours lately, he exclaimed, 'No!'
