Chilam Cheung, Francis Ng, Fala Chen and Ron Ng's
Triumph in the Skies II (TITS2) has become the most chased series in the series as of late and been a hot topic online. Following the fanmade theme video inserting Eason Chan's original theme song
Years Like A Song back into it, another joke circulated online. It was said someone asked TITS2's producer Joe Chan Wai Kwoon who should sing the theme song? Producer Chan wanted one of the leads to sing it, so he replied "Cheung Chi Lam" (Chilam), but to our surprise, someone took the name and flipped it to "Lam Chi Cheung" (George Lam). Yesterday reporters contacted Producer Chan, he laughed loudly over the phone: "Of course that's not true. There was basically no such thing. When I first saw it, I thought Chilam was joking around, but actually we had an executive contact George to perform the theme song. He is well qualified and he's very pleased now. He especially composed this song for the series."
Also in episode two, Chilam went around hugging girls -- Fala Chen and Oceane Zhu; Everyone loves his flirty and handsome Captain "Cool Mor" role. Netizens posted some of his golden lines from the series including "Although I'm handsome, but I'm not stupid", "I want to know what woman can tame me" and "I don't do good deeds unless you let me give you a kiss." In regards to the golden lines, Producer Chan expressed they did weren't aware during filming, but each and every line said were carefully crafted by the scriptwriters. Currently on vacation in Singapore, Chilam accepted an interview and laughed: "Huh? Those are considered golden lines? Well all thanks to the scriptwriters. I just followed what the script said." He expressed there was never the "theme song" joke, but he frankly expressed the commercial breaks had several commercials with Chilam in it, thus the commercial breaks turned into "Chilam's Time".
According to TITS2's scriptwriter Sharon Rose, Captain Cool's personality was requested by Chilam himself. She said: "Chilam hoped his role will be a handsome and flirty one because he can't do that in real life, so he hoped to satisfy himself a little." Chilam said: "I just wanted a flirty look, not a cheap and lowly pilot. Couldn't believe we got this reaction. This time, its all encouragement from the audience."
As for Ron Ng, the whole night his lines had "Selfish girl; HK girl; Superficial; Materialistic girl" several times. During his interview, he was asked if he fears his lines may offend the "HK Girls"? Ron helplessly expressed: "I was just following the script! But there was absolutely no intention to belittle HK girls. The series having so many topics, proves its a success!"
Episode two averaged 33 points, peaking at 34 points. The ratings are continuing to rise. On TVB's mvTV just the premiere episode alone had over 200,000 views.
