The Andy Lau-produced mainland film "Singing When We're Young" ("Chu Lian Wei Man"), is set to be released this month.
According to CRI, the movie is set in 1997 and tells the story of six young people who have to deal with the pressure of sitting for the Chinese college entrance examination (Gaokao).
Starring Zhang Hanyun, Ran Xu and Dai Xu, it is also Liu Juan's feature-length debut directorial debut. Liu Juan previously won this year's Jury Prix at the Asian New Talent Awards hosted by the 16th Shanghai International Film Festival.
"Singing When We're Young" is one of the movies produced by Andy Lau's that aims to discover new talents in directing.
